Nick Wray on managing a botanical garden

Nick is Curator of the University of Bristol Botanic Garden; in conversation with Claire Greenslade

Nick has been Curator at one of Britain’s best regional botanic gardens for 22 years, and has overseen what must be one of the biggest nightmares for the profession - moving the garden! He talks to Claire about his career, the role of the garden, particularly as regarding the rarities of the Avon Gorge, and the university, including the Freshers Week Plant Potting - the largest Student Union activity when 1,500 students annually pot up aloe vera plants. He gives a very thorough overview of how the garden runs and its various activities and community and artistic engagements.
