Annie Guilfoyle and Noel Kingsbury started Garden Masterclass in 2017 to bring inspiration and information to British gardeners, garden designers and landscape professionals, by running workshops. In the next couple of years we began to help run events in Ireland, France and The Netherlands. And then …. the covid lockdown in April 2020, so we went global and online, with a free broadcast every afternoon for two months - the recordings going to our You Tube channel. In July of that year, we started doing webinars, with recordings going to an online library. In November we launched membership. And now, here, we have a podcast channel !
Some of what we post here will be recorded as a podcasts, but much will be the audio of selected sessions of our Thursday Garden Chat, which we do every Thursday - free - at 18.00 London time for a live audience, which we’d invite you to join, the video going to our You Tube channel. If it is from older recordings, we sub-title it ‘from the archive’.
We have ambitious plans! We have recently commissioned a series to be called ‘Garden Myth Busting’ with Ken Thompson a retired ecology academic and author of several popular science books. Ken will be in conversation with Claire Greenslade, Head Gardener of Hestercombe in Somerset.
“I spend ten hours a week in the van driving between jobs” says one of our Garden Masterclass members, “I don’t have time to watch anything”. So, with that in mind, we plan to develop a whole series on garden plants with a leading teacher of horticulture and guest appearances from other experts. There’ll be the odd free one to tempt you, but you’ll have to become a member in order to access the whole series.
Watch this space!
And find out more about what we do by going to our website, and checking us out on Instagram.
Please suggest people that you would like to hear on our Podcast Channel, we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Annie & Noel
